On January and February, I was invited like an artist in residence at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, in Bethany, a small town in Connecticut. I decided to carry with me The Goldberg Variations scores, BWV 988 (1741) J. S. Bach, a ten meters long roll of watercolor paper, and a graph paper roll. In addition: watercolors, pigments, and drawing materials.

The studio, a wooden cabin in the woods, evoked a church, a sacred space with a ceiling height around 10 meters, a large window facing north, old oak floor and a fireplace. It was very easy to connect with the silence and the music of Bach. I started working quickly. Analyzing the scores on graph paper. But this time I drew in a more intuitive and organic way, using larger formats with lots of water; I was painting on paper.
